Villa Cedri is the Liberty charm of the Valdobbiadene vineyards. An eclectic contrast that bears witness to the hard work of the past and present of this emblematic place.

At one time Valdobbiadene was known as an important centre for silk. It was home to one of the most productive spinning mills in the area. Originating in the old village of Martignago, and thanks to the commitment of the Piva family, it continued to operate until the end of the twentieth century. At the beginning of the twentieth century, part of the village was demolished by the family to make room for the Villa and the park of cedar trees, designed according to the Liberty taste of the period. The former factory, which before the eighteenth century was used as a mill and then converted into a silk spinning machine, is what remains of the ancient manufacturing complex. It used to house a special wooden machine that produced a high quality silk called “organzino”. Villa Cedri with its polyhedral Liberty architecture and the park, immersed in the spectacular vineyards of Valdobbiadene, hosts the annual “National Exhibition of Sparkling Wines”, the oldest and most important exhibition in the world of wine. In addition, exhibitions, conferences and concerts are organized by the institution where the Villa is located.
